User Testing is a structured process in which real users engage with your product or prototype and complete predefined scenarios. We observe, record, and analyze their behavior in real time.

The goal is not to confirm that your product works. It is to find out where users struggle, what they misunderstand, and what stops them from completing key actions. You receive concrete, prioritized recommendations before production code is written or before a feature goes live.

User Testing is a structured process in which real users interact with your product or prototype while we observe and document their behavior. It matters before development because UX issues are exponentially cheaper to fix at the prototype stage than after production code has been written. Enterprise teams that skip this step frequently pay for it in post-launch rework.

A typical user testing engagement with SH runs 2 to 4 weeks from planning through final report delivery. Timeline depends on the number of user personas being tested and the complexity of the scenarios. We can discuss a condensed version for teams with tighter deadlines.

You need something users can interact with, but it does not need to be a fully functional product. A low-fidelity wireframe or clickable prototype is sufficient for most user testing scenarios. If you do not have one yet, we can help you prepare it as part of the process.

We test with a minimum of 5 participants per user persona. Research consistently shows that 5 users identify the majority of usability issues in a given interface. For products with multiple distinct user groups, we test each persona separately to ensure the findings are relevant to each audience.

User testing produces behavioral evidence, not just opinions. You see where users hesitate, where they make errors, and what they say out loud when they encounter friction. The output is a full report with prioritized UX issues, improvement recommendations, and conclusions for your next development steps.
