Lexolve: an all-in-one platform for legal document generation, workflow, and tracking

About the client

After nearly a decade working as a corporate lawyer at several leading law firms in Norway, Merete Nygaard grew increasingly frustrated with the insufficient sharing of legal knowledge — both between lawyers and their clients, and among lawyers themselves. Lexolve’s primary goal is to make legal work easier for companies and individuals around the world. 

The challenge

Lexolve wanted to address everyday legal matters with an online tool that, on an intuitive and user-friendly platform, can draft, send, and track legal documents. The biggest challenge: automating processes so they accommodate the many scenarios companies face every day.

The solution

To fully realize this concept, we started with a week-long wireframing sprint to create a cohesive prototype from the outset. We then combined creative forces to develop a solid business plan and branding. Next, we moved into development: we gathered valuable user feedback and refined the outcome so that everyone was satisfied — both users and the Product Owner.

Technology stack

Dynamically generating Microsoft Word documents from JSON model schemas may seem challenging, but our developers handled it with ease. Throughout the project, we prioritized using the latest technologies. Lexolve technology stack: Ruby on Rails, Angular, React.js, PostgreSQL, Mailchimp API, Stripe API, Kubernetes, Rollbar (error monitoring), GitHub (code review), Cloudflare (security), and CircleCI (integration).

Open communication is one of our core values, and we support it at every stage of the software development process. We use digital tools to ensure context is never lost: Slack for chat, Jira for planning, and GitHub for code reviews and discussions.
